Digital MPX Changeover, RDS recoder
An automatic MPX change-over system with RDS recoding. This fully digital switching device handles two MPX signals with three adjustable MPX outputs. It features advanced connectivity, a color TFT display, and a web interface.
The device is an automatic changeover system between 2 composite MPX inputs and 3 MPX outputs.
The continuous analysis of the input signals allows us to establish which input to broadcast. The exchange takes place for various parameters detected, based on the audio level, quality of the RDS signal, the PI code, S/N ratio, or the noise coming from the MPX backbone. Each parameter can be activated or deactivated with the respective configuration of the minimum threshold values.
Checking the status of RDX-M is simple, via GPIO port, via LAN connection you can configure the sending of mail or monitor the device in SNMP, access remotely, and control the entire device with the web page, where it is also possible to update the software when new versions are released.
All the exchange and RDS coder settings are also accessible from the front panel with Knob and Display, this allows rapid access to maintenance technicians in the event of an intervention, even without the use of the PC. Via the front USB port you can export the configuration and list of events to a Pendrive for saving or consultation from a PC, import configurations and settings for quicker serial configuration.
A unique feature is the possibility of recoding the RDS signal, possibly already present in the incoming MPX signal, and reinserting the internally generated RDS signal onto this.
This allows you to replace only alternative frequencies in an RDS signal that carries other dynamic services, such as Radiotext / Radiotext+, PS, TA, or TMC, and therefore not lose them.
